Today I thought I would share a birthday card with you that I made for a little girl. Usually I never get around to write a post or even post any pictures about the cards that I make or the things that I create to give to others but now I have decided it is enough. Need to stop slacking and start doing 😉
Firstly I die cut this balloon from both pink and white heavy weight card stock with Simon says stamp balloons die set. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with ranger super fine gold embossing powder. The stamp set that I used is Stampin’ Up’s “Another great year”. After that I made a crease line on the top quarter of the white die cut so that it can fold easily. Then I glued the pink die cut on which I did the heat embossing and all and glued it on the top fold of the white die cut to make it a top folding card. Then I punched some music signs from Kelly Perky’s glitter tape and added it like little sprinkles on the card to make it more playful. After that I finally broke out my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen (I was so afraid to use this baby up 😉 ) and added it on the stamped banner. Hope my camera captures the beautiful shimmer it gives. It is just stunning in real life. Now I understand why everyone in the card making world is going nuts about it. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive! But what can you do about it. Right 😉
Then I tied a lawn fawn trimming called “gold sparkle hemp cord” on the narrow opening of the balloon or whatever you call it. The exact word seems to skip my mind right now. Then I used ranger multi medium matte on the trimming and twisted it around a pen so that it creates looped string for the balloon & stays in place as well. Then I wrote personalised message in the card. After that I also made a custom envelope with red card stock from recollections with my We are memory keepers envelope punch board. Then I punched a heart from the glitter tape to put on the envelope where it is enclosed to give it an extra umph :p
Btw both the card and the envelope are notecard A5 size (4.25 by 5.5 inches) for reference. Plus it is a top folding card. Hope you liked it 🙂
I am also submitting this post for the Simon Says stamp Wednesday Blog challenge which is anything goes!
